Now in its third generation of bee farmers, it’s no surprise that the Wallace family of Quince Honey Farm are enthusiastic about honey – after all, they’ve been doing it for 75 years.
Supported by their team on an expansive 54 acre bee farm, with hives all over Devon and Somerset, nine different types of honey are produced depending on the season, including Ivy, Hawthorn, Dandelion, Rapeseed, and two types of Heather Honey – Exmoor and Scottish.
Then there’s the appropriately named Devon Honey, harvested from a multifloral mix scattered across the Devon countryside. Proudly encapsulating the best of the west, this humble honey has been the recipient of several awards, popular with both locals and visitors, who often want to bottle a bit of their holiday to take home.
Quince Honey Farm doubles as a popular tourist attraction with lots of opportunities to educate the general public about bees and beekeeping.
